Dave Jones started the business with in 1979 as a painter and decorator contractor. When the business first started Dave focused mainly on small extensions, repairs and modernisation works whereas today the business is winning contracts worth £2 to £4 million on a regular business and the turnover exceeds £15 million and is growing at a significant rate with plans to be turning over £20 million by 2007.
Andrew Gardiner manages the overall operations of the company ensuring that both the company’s' and customers' objectives and goals are met. Andrew who joined the company in 2005 began his career working for F R Barrett as a Carpenter and Joiner and through the years has worked his way up becoming Site Foreman, Site Agent, Contracts Manager and most recently the Manager at the Bluestone Yeovil office.
Chris Neil heads up the Major Construction division of the company and has overall charge of all major secured contracts ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. Chris joined the company in 2004 to manage the major construction works projects and in 2005 was appointed Construction Director responsible for all major construction projects. Chris who has over 30 years experience in major construction including design and build projects started his career as a carpenter and joiner and trained with Tarmac Construction to become a site manager. Before joining DR Jones Chris was Regional Contracts Manager with Walker Contractors in Birmingham.
Chris Austin is the Director for the Plymouth and Exeter offices. Chris joined the company in 1990 as a decorator, in 1997 he became Branch Manager at Exeter and in 1998 became Director. Chris began his career as an apprenticeship painter & decorator with Alford Brothers who are now as the Prowting Group.
Adrian manages all the pre construction side of the major construction team. This includes liaison with new and existing clients, pre tender reviews, the selection of sub-contractors, coordination of the design of schemes together with the estimating and pricing of schemes. Adrian is also responsible for the health and safety of the company and the quality assurance of the company - ISO 9001. Adrian joined the company in 1992 as Contracts Manager until 1997 when he was made Pre Construction Director. Adrian has over 40 years experience in construction having began his career as an Apprentice Bricklayer for F R Bartlett in 1964.
Ian Howse heads the Property Services division of the company. Ian who joined DR Jones in May 2005 previously worked for Bluestone as Maintenance Manager based at their Yeovil and Poole office and working across the South West.
Joyce Hallett is the Finance Director and Company Secretary for the company. Joyce who joined the company in 1995 as Senior Accounts Manager before being made Finance Manager in 1999 started her working life in Lloyds Bank as a cashier. Joyce left the bank to fulfill her ambition to be more accounts orientated, working her way up to the position of Financial Manager at Andover Norton.
Nigel Gillett joined the company in 1990 as a painter having previously worked as a painter and decorator for a company in Frome. In 1992 he was promoted to Site Foremen and in 2003 to Contracts Manager. Nigel oversees and manages all the company’s’ cyclical painting and decorating contracts and has a team of 70 painters and carpenters working with him.
