Specialised Works have a number of ongoing contracts with housing associations and city councils carrying out modernization and improvement works as well as responsive repair work to resident’s homes.

This team has just entered into a 4 year partnering framework with Sovereign Housing and Western Challenge to undertake the day to day maintenance works for them across the South West.  These contracts together are worth in excess of £5m.

We undertake day to day responsive repairs and planned maintenance works for Housing Associations across the South West.   These works include cyclical painting, assisted decorations, voids, upgrades and modernization work including new kitchens and bathrooms and kitchens, rewiring, new heating installations and re-roofing.

We have a dedicated team of 120 directly employed tradesmen including plumbers, carpenters, plasterers, painters, bricklayers, ground workers and fencers carry out these works overseen by the Contracts Manager and Contracts Director

We have over 75 vans dedicated to housing association works with all vans having been fitted with trackers for efficiency.  We offer 24 hour emergency call out service available to all clients

Sovereign Housing
We have been working for Sovereign Housing for 4 years carrying out their day to day maintenance, void works and external decorations.  Each year we carry out in excess of 5000 day to day repair jobs for Sovereign Housing Association with 96% of these jobs being completed on or before time.  We have just agreed a 4 year partnership agreement for day to day repairs and planned maintenance work.  This agreement is worth £880,000 a year.

Western Challenge
We have been working for Western Challenge for 5 years carrying out their external painting and repairs throughout the South and South West.

Exeter City Council
We have been working with Exeter City Council for 15 years carrying out their external improvements and decoration, external re-render/roofing, heating/electricals installations, low maintenance works e.g. fascias/soffits/doors and Assisted Decorating Scheme.  This contract is worth £1.98m a year.

Jones also undertake similar works for Stoneham Housing Association, Knightstone Housing Association, Sanctuary Housing Association, Exeter City Council and Mendip District Council

As part of the Specialised Works team we have a dedicated team of over 50 qualified painters and decorators who work closely with the teams carrying out the works with the housing associations.  This team is headed up by Nigel Gillett who oversees and manages all the company’s cyclical painting and decorating.

We are a member of the Dulux Trade Contract Partnership Scheme. This scheme was launched to proactively embrace the Egan principles of partnering and to help drive quality standards in the painting and decorating industry forward. It is the first scheme of its kind to formally recommend and approve non-domestic painting contractors. It aims to bring professionals together with the shared interest of raising quality standards into a 3-way partnership.
